About Our Ministry
Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry (SVCM) is a team of committed staff, volunteers, churches, and community partners working together to meet the various needs of our neighbors in the Swannanoa Valley. We help provide food, clothing, direct financial assistance, housing, and community resource navigation. Poverty is complex and usually dominated by a narrative of shame, but we refuse to believe the lie that any person's worth is determined by their social or economic status. Instead at SVCM, we strive to restore dignity to all our neighbors through compassionate presence as we navigate their most immediate and critical needs together.
Our Mission
Poverty is incredibly complex, emotionally draining, and often dominated by a narrative of shame. But we refuse to accept the lie that any person’s worth is dependent upon their social or economic lived experiences. Instead, every person has dignity and sacred worth. At SVCM we strive to communicate that dignity to all our neighbors through compassionate presence as we navigate together their most immediate and critical needs.
